For the AS music magazine, I heavily influenced by the 'Indie', 'Alternative', and cultured guitar movement era. I do believe this influence and inspiration in visible in my work. I wanted on focus on both today's generation of artists, and past generations. For example, my cover band, 'Renaissance' were based on the Manchester outfit, The Courteeners.
The Courteeners are the present, the here and now, and as you can see, are a classic guitar band. They also show inspiration towards bands such as their fellow Mancunians, Oasis.
Within my magazine, I wanted to convey aspects of different inspirations, hence why I called the magazine 'Vinyl', this shows culture, and would attract the eyes of somebody into music of the past. I also dressed the front man in a parka, something that referenced to as being an integral part of the Mod era. Therefore I was hoping to show reference to inspiration and culture, as it's implies my band, Renaissance, are heavily influenced by previous generations.
